Odour Extraction- EWOS CARGILL . Aqua Nutrition, Scotland

The Client

EWOS (Cargil) is one of the world’s largest producers of feed and nutrition for farmed fish. Their Bathgate site produces salmon and trout feedstocks for salmon farmers in Scotland and all over the world.

The brief- Improved Odour Extraction

The project brief was to replace their existing odour extraction system which was no longer fit for purpose and to replace it with a system to resolve the odour issues, with a life span of 25 year and with modern technology. Working directly for EWOS we designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned a bespoke odour treatment plant.

The project

This turnkey project utilised sulphus bio-trickling technology (Biofilters) and a full stainless steel ductwork system.

 Issues to overcome- Tricky install

Airmatic engineered the system to overcome a number issues, including working at heights excess of 20m over the top of the existing factory and installing heavy gauge ductwork over 2000mm diameter. With the extensive planning and forward thinking, this project was finished before the programme dates helping the client to meet the environmental deadline put on them.

The fully commissioned project was delivered in August 2018 at a project value of 700k.

The client was delighted with the end result

“Can I say I was very pleased with the installation Airmatic did for us on our odour abatement project. The design of the system & quality of ductwork and the installation was first class all delivered on time and on budget”
Athol Cameron Project Director at Cargil
