Hardman Street Louvres

Acoustic Louvre

For this project Airmatic Acoustics was appointed as a subcontractor for a new build which required an Acoustic Louvre to reduce the noise of the building services plant on the roof of the building to the neighbouring residential and industrial properties.

Situated in central Manchester the building on Hardman Street fell immediately adjacent to a plethora of existing buildings including apartments, offices, restaurants and retail outlets. In order to protect the existing premises from noise of the plant on the roof a three sided Acoustic Louvre was introduce so that noise radiating out towards these buildings was significantly reduce.

Working closely with the contractor and architect the design and layout of the louvre including the inclusion of a mitred corner in line with the building, polyester powder coating the louvres, the inclusion of an access door and flashings to the sides, where decided before manufacture was produced. The louvre selected was the SL-150 and was chosen as the most suitable louvre to reduce plant noise whilst allowing for air flow through to the plant, meeting both the architectural and acoustic needs of the customer.

For this project Airmatic Acoustics offered a complete package of works including:
